NJ Transit releases Fare and Service proposal and public meeting dates
Citing a looming $300 Million budget deficit the state transit agency wants to raise fares by 25 percent and trim service proportionate to recent ridership declines. That bleak proposal was released Friday by NJ Transit and was met with dull response from the public. Commuters can formally respond as the agency holds a number of open meetings beginning March 25th and running through the 27th. One such session will take place on Thursday the 25th at the Monmouth County Library in Manalapan on Symmes Drive from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Another will be held in Long Branch at the Middle School Auditorium on Friday the 26th at the same time.
